This Earth Day let’s make a commitment to do our part in creating a healthier, cleaner, and better world. Any change, big or small, can have an impact! Our planet has been good to us, so let’s show her some love, shall we?
Here are five changes you can make to become a more sustainable business.
Go Paperless
Being more mindful of how much paper your business is wasting is an easy step in becoming more eco-friendly. Remind employees to recycle any paper waste. Set your printer to print on both sides of the paper. This will not only conserve resources, but you’ll save money on paper costs. Take advantage of the cloud and transfer all your files from paper to digital. Further reduce paper consumption by limiting print advertising and consider email and online marketing efforts instead.
Conserve Energy
Advise employees to turn off electronics at the end of the day, or when not in use. Invest in energy-efficient lightbulbs and appliances.
Conserve Water
Water scarcity is one of our planet’s biggest challenges. Do your part to conserve water by replacing old toilets with low flow toilets.
Encourage Green Transportation
Encourage employees to carpool, bike to work, and use public transportation to reduce your carbon footprint.
Volunteer
Make volunteering in community a top priority for your business. Plant a tree, join a community clean up, or volunteer at a state or national park. It’s also a great team building exercise and way to get out of the office!
